Making a Claim
If you find yourself in an accident:
• Stop! By law you must do this after any accident.
• Check to see if anyone is hurt and, if necessary, call an Ambulance.
• If there has been an injury, you must tell the Police and get an Incident Number from them.
• You should not move the vehicles until an independent witness (if one is available) has noted their positions AND it is considered safe to do so.
• Where witnesses are available, make a note of their names, addresses and registration numbers.
• Even if you feel you ARE at fault do NOT admit liability at the scene, as we will take care of this for you.
You will need to exchange details with those involved, including:
• Name, address and phone number.
• Vehicle make and model.
• Registration number.
• Insurance company.
• Policy number.
If possible, write down details of what happened during the accident and draw a sketch of vehicle positions, where you are etc. If you have a camera, take photos.
When you call, please have your Current Certificate of Motor Insurance and the details of the incident ready.
Please be advised that you will be held personally responsible for any third party claims, damages or costs not reported to us within 48 hours of the incident.
