Fraud
Bogus and inflated insurance claims cost the UK insurance industry over £1.6 billion a year and this can add around 5% to every policyholder’s premium.
Southern Rock Insurance Company Ltd does not think that customers should be paying for fraud, and Eldon Insurance Services is working to disrupt and co-ordinate action against people committing insurance crime.
All of our handlers are trained to use a range of skills and technology to prevent and detect fraud. If, during the course of making a claim, our fraud investigators are alerted we will need to satisfy ourselves of the validity of the claim before it is processed.
We have the ability to check and search a large number of industry-wide databases to ensure the information and documentation presented to us is accurate and genuine in its nature. We will also share the information you give to us with other Insurers via the Claims and Underwriting Exchange Register.
Eldon Insurance Services is also responsible for making sure the information provided when the policy was taken out is correct. If we establish that the details are not correct we will inform the Underwriters. Any misrepresentation will result in the cancellation or voidance of your policy and you will be held personally responsible for payment of any Third Party Claims, damages or costs.
The consequences of submitting a fraudulent insurance claim are very serious and are considered to be a criminal offence. Anyone committing Insurance Fraud is likely to get caught. This will mean your claim is repudiated and your policy cancelled by the Underwriters. We will also notify the Police of the details relating to the claim. In addition you will find insurance and credit harder to obtain and more expensive.
If you believe Eldon Insurance Services are dealing with a claim that is not genuine please telephone us in confidence on 0845 2413144 or email the .
